Huddersfield Giants team news: Hamstring frustration

The word hamstring may well be barred in Huddersfield with the Giants having lost both Liam Sutcliffe and Adam Swift to hamstring problems. Also missing through injury are Joe Greenwood and Harry Rushton.

Wakefield Trinity team news: Two back for visiting side

Wakefield Trinity will welcome Oliver Pratt back into the squad for this match and Ky Rodwell also returns for the visiting side. Both Caius Faatili and Jordan Williams drop out to accommodate the two returnees.

Squad: Will Pryce, Harvey Barron, Davy Litten, Lewis Martin, Aidan Sezer, Amir Bourouh, Harvie Hill, Joe Batchelor, Jed Cartwright, Cade Cust, Sam Lisone, Liam Knight, Tom Briscoe, Yusuf Aydin, Arthur Romano, Connor Bailey, Brad Fash, Logan Moy, Matty Laidlaw, Callum Kemp, Lloyd Kemp

Huddersfield Giants vs Wakefield Trinity prediction

Wakefield Trinity were narrow losers in their opening game, edged out at home 16-18 by Toulouse in what was a really disappointing outcome for Daryl Powell, who will have no doubt been hard at work with his squad over this past week to turn things around quickly following such a defeat. Huddersfield Giants travelled over to Perpignan and got dominated by Catalans Dragons, in the end losing 26-10 and also need to improve quickly.

When taking into account the injuries that are plaguing the Giants, this is a big opportunity for Wakefield who on paper, you could argue may just have the better defence compared to that of Huddersfield. If they can clean things up and improve their cutting edge going forward, then Wakefield are well placed to secure what would be an important away win.
