Hubert Hurkacz vs Yi Zhou prediction

Hubert Hurkacz continued his excellent run of form as he defeated Novak Djokovic in the second-round of the Shanghai Masters. Djokovic, a four-time champion at this event, had just claimed the China Open title but he could do little to stop Hurkacz, with the Pole hammering 13 aces on his way to a 6-4 6-3 victory. This was Hurkacz’s first victory over Djokovic after eight previously failed attempts. He has now won nine of his last 11 matches.

The 2023 champion faces Yi Zhou for a place in the round-of-16. Zhou pulled off the biggest win of his career so far after a win over Lorenzo Musetti in the previous round of the event. The 21-year-old dominated the deciding set tiebreak to win 7-6 (7) 3-6 7-6 (1). 

Zhou will be full of confidence after that win, but Hurkacz is enjoying a real resurgence at the moment, and he will be difficult to beat if he can maintain his impressive level of serving.
