Hubert Hurkacz vs Novak Djokovic prediction
Novak Djokovic once again finds himself in a final with a landmark 100th ATP Tour title within touching distance.
The Serb missed his opportunity to remain stuck on 99 in Miami where he was outplayed by young gun Jakub Mensik, but he will have another chance in Geneva.
The 24-time major winner endured some tight moments before roaring clear to see off the battling Cameron Norrie 6-4 6-7 6-1 and set up an eighth career meeting with Hubert Hurkacz.
In the other semi-final, the Polish sixth seed was far too solid as he defeated Austrian qualifier Sebastian Ofner 6-3 6-4 to continue a resurgence in form that has seen him yet to drop a set this week.
The man nicknamed The Incredible Hurk is going to have to produce something special if he’s to lift the title, however, as he trails Djokovic 7-0 in the head-to-head.
The scar tissue from previous encounters may well cost the Pole in the key moments, but if he’s ever going to beat Nole it may well be now. He’s serving well and Djoker is still short of his best, admitting he has been tight in the pressure moments of late.
The obvious bet is on Djokovic but the better value may be in Hurkacz pulling off a shock of at least taking it the distance.
