Hubert Hurkacz vs James Duckworth prediction

Hubert Hurkacz continued his fine run of form after advancing to the semi-finals of the China Open. He began his campaign with a comeback victory over Learner Tien, before another three set win over Arthur Gea. Hurkacz then beat in-form Karen Khachanov, but his run ended in the last four as he retired in the second set against Alex de Minaur. The Australian was leading 6-4 3-2. This was preceded by a run to the final in Chengdu, where he was beaten by Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. Hurkacz has won seven of his last nine matches. 

Hurkacz is a former champion in Shanghai, having won the title in 2023. He begins his latest campaign against James Duckworth. The Australian’s losing streak increased to three matches following a loss to Lorenzo Sonego in Chengdu. 

Hurkacz leads the head-to-head 2-0. This has been an incredible productive Asian swing for the 29-year-old so far, and if he remains healthy, he should have far too much for Duckworth.
