National Hunt Challenge Cup Novices’ Chase will wrap up the first day of action and there could be an eye-catching winner if Galvin can hit his straps. He has won his last four races including a success at Cheltenham last time out. He was also second in his last race at the Festival which allowed him to retain his novice status and looks to be the one to beat here. Next Destination could be the one who proves to be too good having also won his last two races, both of which came when switching to chasing. He looks suited to a longer trip despite those two wins and as a good jumper, he should go close.
THE PREDICTION
The withdrawal of Royale Pagaille has given this race a different feel with Galvin hoping to take advantage. However, preference is for Paul Nicholls’ Next Destination who could well prove to be the best jumper in the field and that will be vital. He looks capable of managing this lengthy trip and can make it a hat-trick of wins when chasing.
