Holger Rune vs Nicolas Jarry prediction
Holger Rune has competed in one grass court event leading up to Wimbledon. He made his way to the quarter-finals of Queen's Club but a poor performance, especially when it came to returning, saw him dumped out at the quarter-final stage by Roberto Bautista Agut. Rune has been inconsistent this season but has still won the Barcelona Open and made the final of Indian Wells, while he also reached the second week of Roland Garros for a fourth consecutive year.
Nicolas Jarry advanced through all three stages of Wimbledon qualifying without the drop of a set. The Chilean has struggled this season and his failure to defend most of his points at the Italian Open after making the final last year has seen him drop outside the world’s top 140.
They have played once before, in the first-round of the Basel Open last year with Rune winning in straight sets. Rune has struggled to find consistency in his opening matches of his slams recently and may drop a set, but he should still be getting through to the second-round.
