Himeno Sakatsume vs Alycia Parks prediction

Himeno Sakatsume enters the draw at Indian Wells as a qualifier. She defeated Simona Waltert and then produced a fine display to beat the dangerous Nikola Bartunkova in three sets. Her best result of the season was at the start of the year, as she made the semi-final stage in Canberra.

Sakatsume faces Alycia Parks in round one. The American is currently on a three-match losing streak. She was defeated by Qinwen Zheng in the second-round of the Qatar Open and has since lost her next two matches in Dubai and Austin against Katie Volynets and Oksana Selekhmeteva respectively. Her best result of the season was a quarter-final appearance in Ostrava at the start of last month.

Parks will start this match as the favourite, but Sakatsume is unlikely to be an easy opponent, especially after her win over Bartunkova in qualifying. The American will need to remain resolute on serve and reduce the number of unforced errors if she is to get the better of her opponent.
