Heather Watson produced one of her best performances in recent times as she defeated Yulia Putintseva 6-4 6-3 in the first-round of Queen’s. Watson took all four of her break point opportunities and now takes on Elena Rybakina in the next stage of the competition.
Rybakina received a bye in the opening round as the fourth seed. Her form improved towards the end of the clay court season as she picked up a title in Strasbourg and then increased her winning streak to seven matches as she made the fourth-round of the French Open.
