Harriet Dart made the perfect start to her Queen’s Club campaign as she came from a set down to beat world number 35 Liudmila Samsonova. Dart spurned three break points at 5-5 in the first set, and her frustration deepened as she was broken in the very next service game. Nevertheless, the Brit turned things around in the next two sets to win 5-7 6-4 6-3 after two hours and 48 minutes.
She now takes on Belinda Bencic. The Swiss is the fourth seed at this event and received a bye in round one. She won her first three matches at Roland Garros to get through to the round-of-16, her best ever result at the tournament. Bencic took the first set against Elina Svitolina and looked on course for the last eight, but the Ukrainian fought back to win in three.
Bencic has reached five grass court finals in her career and progressed to the semi-finals of Wimbledon last year. Dart is the clear underdog ahead of this one.
