Hamad Medjedovic overcame sixth seed Arthur Rinderknech in two tight sets to progress to the round-of-16 at Queen’s Club. There were no break points throughout the entire match, but Medjedovic edged ahead in both tiebreaks to win 7-6 (5) 7-6 (4). This was his first match on tour since losing in the second-round of Roland Garros to Casper Ruud.
He will face Ugo Humbert for a place in the quarter-finals. The Frenchman performed strongly in his first-round match as he defeated two-time champion Marin Cilic in straight sets. Humbert saved all three break points on offer and won 89% of his points on first serve, wrapping up a 7-5 6-3 win after one hour and 21 minutes.
The head-to-head is 1-0 in favour of Humbert, after his win in the final of the 2025 Marseille Open. The Frenchman looked excellent in his opening round match and will be the favourite here given his grass court pedigree.
