Hamad Medjedovic vs Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard prediction
Hamad Medjedovic produced a fine display in the last round to dump fourth seed Gabriel Diallo out of the tournament. The 22-year-old broke in the very first game of the match, and that ultimately proved to be the difference in the set. He continued his momentum in the second, winning five games in a row at one point as he defeated the Canadian 6-4 6-2. Diallo was far from his best and only created one break point opportunity, but it was yet another solid performance from Medjedovic, who now has five wins from six matches after returning from injury.
Giovanni Mpetsih Perricard comfortably booked his place in the last eight with a straight sets win over Alexandre Muller. The Frenchman’s first serve percentage exceeded 75% and he didn’t even face a break point as he won 6-3 6-2 against his compatriot. Mpetshi Perricard has struggled this season but he’ll take confidence from these two victories ahead of the US Open.
Medjedovic leads the head-to-head 1-0 after beating Mpetshi Perricard 7-5 7-6 in the first-round of the Barcelona Open earlier this year. These two are likely to dominate their respective service games and we can see this heading into a decider.
