Hamad Medjedovic vs Arthur Rinderknech prediction

Hamad Medjedovic produced some strong performances on his return to the tour in Cincinnati. The Serb had not featured since retiring from his first-round match at Wimbledon in early July, but defeated Aleksandar Kovacevic and Tallon Griekspoor to set up a third-round encounter against Carlos Alcaraz. Medjedovic battled away against the world number two, losing 6-4 6-4 and will hope for a deep run here to continue the momentum ahead of the US Open.

Arthur Rinderknech also picked up two fine victories in Cincinnati, as he beat Nuno Borges and then came from a set down to defeat three-time Grand Slam finalist Casper Ruud in round two. Unfortunately for the Frenchman, the sweltering conditions got the better of him and he was forced to retire from his match against Felix Auger-Aliassime due to heat exhaustion. Rinderknech was trailing 7-6 4-2. 

Both of these players were competitive in their last event and are just separated by two places in the world rankings. They are likely to cancel each other out in most service games with their strong serves, but Medjedovic has just a bit more variety to his game which could see him sneak past Rinderknech.
