Gustavo Heide vs Vit Kopriva prediction

Gustavo Heide is handed a wildcard for his home tournament in Brazil. He competed for his country in the qualifying stages of the Davis Cup. He picked up a fine victory over Gabriel Diallo in three sets but lost his second singles match against Liam Draxl as Canada won the tie 3-2. He attempted to qualify for the Australian Open but lost to Dino Prizmic in the second stage.

He faces Vit Kopriva. The Czech competed in the Argentina Open last week, winning two matches against Alex Barrena and Matteo Berrettini to make his first quarter-final of the season. However, he was defeated by top seed Francisco Cerundolo in straight sets.

They have faced each other on one previous occasion, with Kopriva coming from a set down to defeat Heide in the qualifying round at the Generali Open two years ago.

Heide will have home support on his side and has challenged Kopriva in the past, but the Czech showed an encouraging level in Buenos Aires and will be the firm favourite to advance to the next round.
