Guo Hanyu vs Iga Swiatek prediction
Iga Swiatek’s victory at Wimbledon was her sixth Grand Slam triumph and leaves her with just the Australian Open to win of the four Slams across the year. To win on her weakest surface of grass made it even sweeter from Swiatek’s point of view and she now returns to the hard court full of confidence and expecting to perform strongly.
Guo Hanyu has her work cut out when taking into account the quality of Swiatek. Although she’s not to be underestimated with the 27-year-old having ‘double-bageled’ her opponent in the qualifiers before defeating Yulia Putintseva in straight sets last time out, serving six aces and winning five of nine break points.
However, Swiatek is a different class of opposition and one of the favourites to win it all in Montreal for a reason. Any outcome other than a comfortable victory for the Pole would be a surprise.
