The 18-year-old Russian has won three ITF hardcourt titles this year and sits 15 places above her opponent Hanyu Guo in the rankings.
The Chinese hopeful has also won two hardcourt titles at a lower tier but has just the one victory on tour making this quite an evenly matched encounter.
Will the rankings underdog be able to use her experience and the home surroundings to deny her opponent or will the teenager finally break her duck in a main draw?
