Grigor Dimitrov’s season ended abruptly last summer as he suffered a pectoral injury against Jannik Sinner in the fourth-round at Wimbledon, despite being two sets to love up. He faces Pablo Carreno Busta in round one, with the Spaniard coming into the main draw as a qualifier. The 34-year-old is ranked 92 in the world and is not the player he once was, having reached a high of 10 over eight years ago. Carreno Busta won three Challenger titles last season but his record on the ATP Tour was poor.
Both of these players are former Grand Slam semi-finalists and turn 35 this year but as long as Dimitrov is fit, he is the clear favourite here.
