Grigor Dimitrov won consecutive tour-level matches for the first time this season as he reached the quarter-finals of the Mallorca Championships with a straight sets win over Abdullah Shelbayh. The Jordanian struggled physically as Dmitirov wrapped up a 6-2 6-4 victory.

Dimitrov has shown signs of life this week after an injury-hit campaign, but this will be a significant step up in quality. He will need to shorten the points and be aggressive on serve if he is to have a chance.
