Cameron Norrie will bid to kick-start his grass swing following a tough first round exit in Queens. 

The British wildcard could not follow up a morale-boosting run to the French Open quarter-finals as he fell to rising Czech star Jakub Mensik in London. 

Next up, the 29-year-old meets seventh seed Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard who is also looking for form on the turf having impressed with deep runs at Queens and Wimbledon last year. 

The Frenchman’s size and power make him a difficult proposition on grass when he’s on-song, but if Norrie can get enough serves back into play, he will feel the crowd can help him scrap his way to victory.

One note of caution would be Mpetshi Perricard’s record against lefties which has seen him lose just one of seven previous encounters with southpaws.
