Giles Hussey vs Quentin Halys prediction
Giles Hussey pulled off an upset as he beat Matteo Arnaldi in the first-round of the Eastbourne Open. Both players had qualified for the event, but Arnaldi was heading into the tournament on the back of a semi-final appearance at Roland Garros earlier this month. Hussey conceded just the one break point as he won 6-4 6-2.
He will now face Quentin Halys. The Frenchman enters the round-of-16 of the main draw as a lucky loser, after losing in the first stage of qualifying to Toby Samuel. Halys is still searching for his first win on grass this season as he also lost in the first-round of the Stuttgart Open to Sho Shimabukuro.
Hussey produced a brilliant display in the previous round, while Halys is yet to get going on grass, despite his far greater tour-level experience. This has the makings of a competitive match, and Hussey should approach it with confidence.
