Although he remains in the top four heading into Dublin, Gian van Veen has lost at the quarter-final stage in each of the last two Premier League nights, with his performance levels having noticeably dipped since the early weeks of the campaign.

The Dutch debutant won just one game at the European Darts Trophy in Germany over the weekend, before being swept aside by eventual winner Wessel Nijman.

Michael van Gerwen, meanwhile, lost his only match in that tournament, although he did average 107 in defeat to Niels Zonneveld.

In the Premier League, MVG has also tailed off significantly, having failed to win a match since Night 2 in Antwerp.

With both Dutchman desperate to get back on track, this could be a nip-and-tuck quarter-final that has the potential to go the distance.
