Gabriel Diallo vs Tomas Martin Etcheverry prediction

Gabriel Diallo ended a five-match losing run as he fought from a set down to beat Terence Atmane in the first-round. The Canadian went behind after losing the first set on a tiebreak, but he wasn’t broken on serve in sets two or three as he recorded a 6-7 (7) 6-4 7-5 win after two hours and 57 minutes. Diallo won 81% of his points on first serve.

He will now face Tomas Martin Etcheverry, who received a bye in round one. Etcheverry did compete at the Halle Open last week, but he lost to Daniil Medvedev in his opening match. That extended his losing run to three matches overall, and his last victory occurred over a month ago.

They have played against each other on one previous occasion, with Diallo defeating Etcheverry in the first-round of the Miami Open last year. He will have gained some confidence from ending his losing run, but he will need to maintain his level if he is to advance to the last eight.
