Gabriel Diallo vs James Duckworth prediction
Gabriel Diallo got his Almaty Open campaign off to a strong start as he comfortably defeated Amir Omarkhanov in straight sets. The 17-year-old was making his ATP Tour debut and it was an easy win for Diallo, who broke early on to take a 3-0 lead in the first set and did not concede a break point during the match. He won 6-3 6-1 after an hour and two minutes. The Canadian picked up the first ATP title of his career in June and is on the verge of breaking into the top 30 of the world rankings.
James Duckworth will be his opponent in the next round after he got past Ugo Blanchet. The Australian was not broken on serve and was always in control as he won 6-3 6-4. That was his first win on the tour since the Canadian Open.
This is their first tour-level match, but they did face each other three years ago in qualifying for the Canadian Open, with Diallo winning in straight sets. He will be expected to come through in similar fashion here.
