Gabriel Diallo vs Daniel Altmaier prediction
Gabriel Diallo began his grass court campaign in perfect fashion as he picked up his maiden ATP title at the Libema Open. He defeated Zizou Bergs in the final following wins over Ugo Humbert and Karen Khachanov. He fell away at Queen’s Club after a straight sets loss to Jiri Lehecka in the round-of-16 but again came through with an encouraging quarter-final appearance in Mallorca a week later.
Daniel Altmaier has won just one match since his brilliant run to the fourth-round of the French Open. A first-round loss to Daniil Medvedev in Halle was followed up a win at the same stage of the Mallorca Championships against Fabio Fognini. Altmaier was unable to go further than the second-round as he lost to Corentin Moutet.
Diallo should be regarded as the favourite after his strong recent form on grass though Altmaier did win their only previous encounter at last year’s Davis Cup. The Canadian will be expected to win his first match at Wimbledon but Altmaier will still provide decent opposition.
