Gabriel Diallo vs Damir Dzumhur prediction
Gabriel Diallo crashed out in the third-round of the Winston-Salem Open last time out. He went a break down to Hamad Medjedovic in the first game of the match and failed to get into the match from there, losing in straight sets. He did fare better in Cincinnati, also losing in round three, but putting in a solid display against world number Jannik Sinner and being just one point away from forcing a decider. This has been a breakthrough season for the Canadian after picking up his first ATP Tour title on grass at the Libema Open.
Damir Dzumhur is his opponent at the US Open in round one. The experienced Bosnian last competed in Cincinnati, reaching the second-round and even taking a set off eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz before going down in three. He does have a Challenger title on hard courts this season, after his success in Cap Cana in the middle of March.
Diallo starts as the heavy favourite and Dzumhur will need to disrupt his rhythm early if he is to get anything out of this.
