Francisco Comesana vs Damir Dzumhur prediction

Francisco Comesana returned to his favoured clay for two tournaments after losing in the first-round of Wimbledon. He made a decent start, as he advanced to the quarter-finals of the Gstaad Open before a straight sets loss to eventual winner Alexander Bublik. He then competed in Kitzbuhel, only making the second-round where he lost to Arthur Cazaux. Comesana is without a hard court win on the main draw this season.

He will go up against Damir Dzumhur in the first-round of the Canadian Open. The Bosnian has performed well in his last two tournaments. He reached the quarter-finals in Bastad and then followed that up with a semi-final appearance in Umag, though he did lose heavily to Carlos Taberner in his last four match. 

Though he mostly suits clay, Dzumhur did show his quality on hard courts this season with a run to the final of the Cap Cana Challenger, beating Jakub Mensik along the way, barely a week before the young Czech would triumph at the Miami Open. He’s a stronger player on this surface than Comesana and should be regarded as the favourite to win.
