Francisco Cerundolo vs Nuno Borges prediction
Up until recently, Francisco Cerundolo had been one of the most consistent players on the ATP Tour in terms of amassing victories. This included back-to-back semi-final appearances in Munich and Madrid during the middle of the clay season. However, his form has taken a dip as he was on the end of a shock defeat in the first-round of the French Open despite his credentials on the surface. He competed in just one event on grass but lost in the first-round of Halle to Alex Michelsen despite taking the first set.
Nuno Borges has competed in more events but hasn’t made a telling impact. He did reach the quarter-finals at the Libema Open though one of his two victories came about due to a withdrawal. He lost early on at Queen’s Club and then only made the second-round of Eastbourne.
These two have faced each other on one previous occasion and it happened to also be in the first-round of Wimbledon two years ago. Cerundolo came from a set down to win that day. Neither player is in the best of form or particularly suited to grass but the Argentine is more likely to come out on top again.
