Francisco Cerundolo vs Jannik Sinner prediction
Francisco Cerundolo achieved back-to-back wins at a tournament for the first time in nearly three months as he defeated Miomir Kecmanovic in three sets. Cerundolo found his best form in the tight moments as he recovered from a slump in the second set and a failure to close out the match after going 5-2 up in the decider. Kecmanovic reeled off three straight games from that point, but the Argentine kept his composure to win 7-5 1-6 7-6 (4).
He faces world number two Jannik Sinner for a place in the last eight of the event. The four-time Grand Slam champion began his campaign in Paris with a comfortable straight sets win over Zizou Bergs. Sinner broke early in the first set and did not even concede a break point during the match as he won 6-4 6-2. Following Carlos Alcaraz’s shock defeat to Cameron Norrie, Sinner can return to the top of the world rankings if he wins the event for the first time.
Sinner leads the head-to-head 3-2 and 2-0 indoors. They faced each other on the surface twice in 2022, with the world number two winning at the Davis Cup and in Vienna a month later.
Sinner is on a 23-match winning streak indoors and hasn’t lost since the Davis Cup in 2023. He will be looking for a first Masters 1000 title of the year this week and is the overwhelming favourite.
