Francisco Cerundolo beat Botic van de Zandschulp in four sets to advance in Paris. The Argentine had the opportunity to seal the match in straights as he served for the match at 5-3 in the third, but Van de Zandschulp broke back. He also squandered a match point in the tiebreak as the Dutchman extended the contest. Nevertheless, he recovered to win 6-3 6-4 6-7 (6) 6-4 after three hours and 37 minutes.
He now takes on Hugo Gaston. The Frenchman ended Gael Monfils’ career at Roland Garros as he held off a fightback from the veteran to win in five sets.
