Francisco Cerundolo is the top seed at his home event at the Argentina Open and will hope to go one better after making the final last year, losing to Joao Fonseca. He showed some good form at the Australian Open, as he made the fourth-round in Melbourne for the first time. However, he would go no further after a straight sets defeat to third seed Alexander Zverev.
He goes up against Hugo Dellien. The Bolivian was in control of his first-round match in Buenos Aires as he defeated Damir Dzumhur in straight sets. Dellien did not drop his serve, won 82% of first serve points and broke on three separate occasions as he won 6-4 6-1 after just one hour and 14 minutes.
Cerundolo has stated that one of the aims in his career is to win this event, and he will be fired up as the top seed and one of the favourites for the title. He should have too much quality for Dellien.
