Francisco Cerundolo comes into this one on the back of a round of 16 exit to Thiago Agustin Tirante at the Rio Open last week. That was a frustrating defeat for Cerundolo after he had won his fourth career title with the Argentina Open earlier this month.

Elmer Moller has progressed into the second round with a hard-fought victory against Roman Andres Burruchaga. Moller won his two sets with the serve either side of a 6-0 demolition against Burruchaga’s serve.

That will be a concern for the Dane as he now comes up against the powerful Cerundolo and the Argentine will be expected to come out on top in this one.
