Francisco Cerundolo vs Alex Michelsen prediction
Francisco Cerundolo lost two of his three matches during the Asian swing, last competing at the Shanghai Masters and losing to Zizou Bergs in the third-round. His form hasn’t been particularly inspiring for quite some time now and he has failed to produce consistent results ever since a surprise first-round loss at Roland Garros after a very strong clay court season leading up to it.
He faces Alex Michelsen in round one, with the American rediscovering some of his form in Almaty as he reached the last four. However, he will be slightly disappointed he was unable to make it through to a first ATP final of the season as he lost to Corentin Moutet in straight sets, despite going 3-0 up in the first.
Michelsen’s game seems to match well with the indoor conditions, and he will take confidence from his recent performances in Almaty. Cerundolo is still a dangerous player, but Michelsen will fancy his chances of a victory to continue the momentum.
