Frances Tiafoe vs Terence Atmane prediction
Frances Tiafoe has not featured since Wimbledon, as he lost a five set epic to Alexander Bublik in round three. The grass court season did bring about his first title since 2023, as he beat fellow countryman Taylor Fritz in the final of the Halle Open. Overall, this has been a far more encouraging season for Tiafoe compared to 2025, and he will be hoping for a strong North American hard court swing, having reached the semi-finals of the US Open on two occasions. His best result here was a semi-final appearance two years ago.
His first-round opponent is Terence Atmane. The Frenchman’s best results have been on outdoor hard court, as he advanced to the quarter-finals of the Mexican Open and the round-of-16 at the Miami Open earlier in the year. His recent form is poor however, as he lost four of his five matches during the grass court season, along with first-round exits in Bordeaux, Hamburg and Roland Garros.
Tiafoe leads the head-to-head 3-0, but Atmane has managed to win a set in all of those matches. However, he is struggling at the moment in terms of form, and Tiafoe is an even heavier favourite.
