Frances Tiafoe vs Aleksandar Kovacevic prediction
Frances Tiafoe defeated Nuno Borges in the first-round of the Mexican Open. Tiafoe broke in the first game of the match and that proved to be the difference in set one. The second was more hard-fought, with both players exchanging breaks in the middle of the set. Nevertheless, Tiafoe broke again late on to seal a 6-4 6-4 win after one hour and 30 minutes.
He now faces Aleksandar Kovacevic. He got the better of Adam Walton in straight sets to book a meeting with Tiafoe. Kovacevic broke to go 3-0 up in the first set, but Walton would draw level with a break of his own. There would be no breaks of serve after that, but Kovacevic did just enough in each tiebreak to earn a 7-6 (1) 7-6 (3) victory.
Tiafoe leads the head-to-head 3-0, though he has dropped a set to Kovacevic on each previous occasion. He could be pushed again here, but does remain the firm favourite.
