Man Utd will have been extremely disappointed to finish outside the top three and therefore not qualify for this season’s Champions League, so will be expecting better in the new campaign. New head coach Marc Skinner arrives after a stint in charge of NWSL side Orlando Pride and big things are expected of his team. Reading meanwhile, finished safely in midtable in the 2020-21 WSL, but when considering the significant resources being thrown around by other teams in the division, this may be the best they can hope for in 2021-22. A trip to Leigh certainly represents a tough start for the Royals and Man Utd will be expected to mark Skinner’s first game in charge with victory here.
