Brighton were no doubt more than happy with a sixth-place finish in last season’s WSL, but experienced boss Hope Powell will no doubt have her eyes set on even better in 2021-22. This is proven by the fact that for the first time in their history this summer, they paid a transfer fee to bring in a new player (striker Danielle Carter from Reading). Playing this match in Falmer as opposed to their usual home ground in Crawley should aide them with a big crowd behind them and a pristine playing condition allowing them to play good football.
