THE PREDICTION

The big WSL face-off between first-placed Chelsea and second-placed Man City has been widely anticipated by many and seen as a potential title decider. Currently two points separate the teams with Man City knowing that victory at home would see them overtake Emma Hayes’ side with just three WSL matches remaining. Realistically, the hosts have no choice but to take the game to Chelsea, knowing that a draw will likely not be enough if they want to win the league when taking into account the form of Chelsea all season. Both teams head into this having lost just one league match all season and despite the pressure on Man City to win it, this will be a cagey affair as Chelsea look to soak up pressure and utilise quality strike partners Sam Kerr and Fran Kirby to hit the home side on the counter-attack. Whichever way this match goes, clear cut chances are expected to be at a premium and under 2.5 goals scored over the course of 90 minutes should prove the smart play here.
