THE PREDICTION

When taking into account the perilous situation of both these two sides in regards to the WSL relegation battle, the second city derby between 10^th-placed Birmingham and 11^th-placed Aston Villa takes on huge significance. Victory for Aston Villa in Solihull would see them leapfrog the Blues and see themselves move three points clear of Bristol City, who currently occupy the single relegation spot. For Birmingham, a win would almost see them safe with a five-point gap between themselves and Bristol City. However, neither side have been used to winning of late with Birmingham having not tasted victory in their last 12 WSL games and Aston Villa winless in most recent eight matches in all competitions. With the stakes so high in this one, a turgid affair is expected with neither team likely to give much away defensively and both prioritising avoiding defeat first and foremost.
