  • France have won each of their last 16 international matches

PREDICTED LINE-UPS

Iceland: Sigurdardottir; Vioarsdottir, Viggosdottir, Arnardottir, Gisladottir; G. Jonsdottir, Brynjarsdottir, Gunnarsdottir; S. Jonsdottir, Thorvaldsdottir, Vilhjalmsdottir

France: Magnin; Perisset, Mbock Bathy, Renard, Karchaoui; Geyoro, Bilbault, Mateo; Diani, Sarr, Cascarino

THE PREDICTION

For Iceland, the equation is simple. Victory against already qualified France and they book their place in the knockout stage. A loss is likely to see them eliminated whilst a draw will end up with them sweating on the result between Italy and Belgium. Unfortunately for Iceland though, they are coming up against a formidable opponent who aren’t expected to take their foot off the gas despite having been confirmed as Group D winners. Momentum can be so crucial in international tournament football and France will want to ensure they enter the knockout stage with lots of it in their favour. Provided they maintain their performance levels shown in their previous two rounds of group games, France should make it three wins from three here.
