PREDICTED LINE-UPS

England: Earps; Bronze, Bright, Williamson, Daly; Stanway, Walsh; Mead, Kirby, Hemp; White

Norway: Pettersen; Sonstevold, Mjelde, Thorisdottir, Blakstad; Maanum, Engen; Eikeland, Graham Hansen, Reiten; Hegerberg

THE PREDICTION

England got off to a winning start to Euro 2022 despite not being at their best, but they will need to significantly improve if they are to overcome Norway, who comfortably defeated Northern Ireland by four goals to one. It’s nothing unusual for an England national team to start slowly at a major tournament, if anything it’s a positive sign that the Lionesses still managed to come out on top over Austria despite an under-par performance. The biggest challenge in this next match for Sarina Wiegman’s side will be to shut out their opponents defensively, especially when taking into account the prowess Norway pose going forward through the likes of Ada Hegerberg. However, the English backline showed their mettle against Austria and boasts a stronger all-round unit than that of Norway. Expect an improved England performance this time round and a second victory in Group A.
