THE PREDICTION
Both these sides lock horns in the Europa League play-off round having each been eliminated from the Champions League in the third-round of qualifying. CFR Cluj suffered a 3-1 defeat away from home to Swiss champions Young Boys in the second leg after drawing the first leg 1-1 at home, whilst Red Star Belgrade narrowly lost out to Sheriff 2-1 on aggregate. The hosts’ record at Stadion Rajko Mitić in all competitions is a formidable one and Cluj are expected to prioritise defensive stability here, making themselves difficult to break down. Despite that, Red Star are expected to find a way through their opponents having scored ten goals across their last five games in all competitions and a first leg victory for them looks on the cards.
