Scottish champions Rangers were stunned by ten-man Malmo in the second leg of their Champions League third round qualifier. With the tie locked at 2-2 on aggregate at Ibrox, Rangers inexplicably conceded two goals in five second half minutes, ultimately losing the match 1-2 and the tie 4-2 on aggregate. This has led to them dropping into the Europa League and after Steven Gerrard’s side will be aiming to take their frustrations out on Alashkert. Whilst the Armenian champions aren’t to be taken lightly, Rangers contain a significantly superior squad both in terms of individual ability and strength-in-depth, therefore it would be a big shock if the hosts were not to win this match by at least two clear goals.
