Shakhtar Donetsk certainly have happy memories of their opening Group Stage match in last season’s Champions League, which saw them beat Spanish giants Real Madrid 2-3 away from home. This year sees them travel to Tiraspol to face Sheriff, who advanced to the Group Stage after coming through four rounds of qualification ties. Sheriff are the only Moldovan side to ever make it to this stage of the competition and they head into this one as somewhat of an unknown quantity. Shakhtar meanwhile, are Group Stage regulars and their experience in matches of this magnitude is likely to serve them well in this particular fixture. Whilst Sheriff will no doubt be fired up for such an occasion, Shakhtar certainly won’t be overawed and when taking into account the quality of players within their squad, the visitors will no doubt carve out a number of goalscoring opportunities for themselves here and the shrewd play looks to be backing Shakhtar Donetsk to win via the draw no bet market.
