REAL MADRID VS LIVERPOOL PREDICTION

Two heavyweights of European football collide at the quarter-final stage as 13-time Champions League winners Real Madrid, face off against six-time European champions Liverpool in a repeat of the 2017-18 final. Both teams have struggled this season domestically and will be relying on this competition to save their respective campaigns. Real Madrid have shown significant improvement of late, winning nine of their last eleven games in all competitions without defeat, scoring 20 goals over the course of those fixtures. However, the absence of central defender Sergio Ramos will prove a huge blow after the Madrid captain was injured on international duty. Liverpool will hope to take advantage in this first leg, but themselves are suffering from a number of injuries to key players, particularly in defence. The two sides however, will look to make up for their defensive issues by utilising their extremely strong offensive players such as key striker Karim Benzema for Madrid and Egyptian star Mohamed Salah for Liverpool. Whilst the outcome itself could go either way in this quarter-final first leg, both teams to score is expected.
