THE PREDICTION
After disposing of their manager Ciriaco Sforza following their 1-2 defeat at the hands of lowly Vaduz, Basel got back to winning ways in an entertaining goal-fest away at Luzern that saw the visitors triumph 3-4 after netting an injury time winner. Currently in fourth-place and one point adrift of the European places, Basel must back that up under interim boss Patrick Rahmen with a second successive victory at home to second-placed Servette. The visitors hold a two-point gap over the fourth-placed hosts and are expected to set up defensively at St. Jakob-Park as they look to soak up pressure and crowd their own half with bodies as they try to keep an attacking Basel under control. A turgid affair is therefore expected, with Servette no doubt happy to play for a draw and keep themselves above Basel in the table.
