THE PREDICTION
The now perennially frustrating and still recovering from off-field issues Malaga continued to baffle with inconsistency after a 1-1 draw away to bottom-placed Albacete in their opening match of 2021. Back-to-back away wins against Fuenlabrada and Girona in late November/early December meant that they were looking certain to push on for a playoff spot in the second half of the season but, since then, they have gone on to not win their next four games. They come up against the side they defeated in midweek in the Copa Del Rey in Real Oviedo. A winner deep into extra-time took advantage of Javi Mier being sent off for Oviedo and that extra 30 minutes will probably be important in contributing to another industrious but fairly dull game. A draw and under 3.5 goals looks a reasonable bet.
