Espanyol have been really good this season. It was easy for such a big club to struggle to get promoted back into the top-flight at the first time of asking; however, they have been good. A competency and efficiency has allowed them to rise to the top-of-the table. They come up against a Rayo Vallecano side who’s impressive run of form has been halted with back-to-back defeats to Real Mallorca and then Barcelona in the league; both have mitigating factors - one was second place Mallorca and the other was Barca. Rayo’s relatively decent attack is balanced by the worst defensive record of the top six. It should be a good game that Espanyol shade but both teams to score seems probable.
