Espanyol suffered their first defeat of the season at the weekend as they slipped to a 1-0 loss at Rayo Vallecano at the weekend. That was never going to be an easy fixture against a Rayo side expected to challenge for promotion this season but Espanyol will not be too disheartened. They welcome a Mirandes side who will be no pushovers here as they come off a goalless draw against Mallorca themselves.
