VILLARREAL PREVIEW: MARCELINO’S VILLARREAL

The appointment of former Valencia and Olympique de Marseille boss Marcelino has been followed by consistent improvement for Villarreal in the last 11 months or so and they begin the weekend sitting tucked inside the top-half of the table.

There will be a little concern that three of their five La Liga victories so far this season have come with a second-half stoppage-time winner. The Yellow Submarine have been entertaining to watch with 34 goals coming in their nine matches.

GETAFE PREVIEW: STRUGGLING FOR COHESION

In his second stint in charge of Getafe, Jose Bordalas has not quite been able to implement his aggressive style of football to an extremely effective level. The Madrid-based club have managed just one win in their opening nine matches so far this season.

They have managed to score just six goals in their nine games and they come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw at home to Osasuna at the Coliseum a couple of weeks ago in their most recent outing.

VILLARREAL VS GETAFE PREDICTION

Villarreal have been thrilling to watch in terms of the amount of goals that have come in their matches but also the drama that has come in their games as they try to re-assert themselves back in Europe. They face a Getafe side that can often be genuinely utterly tedious to watch, despite being slightly more proactive this season. They will seek to frustrate Villarreal but a home win remains the likeliest outcome for this one.
