Under the management of Imanol Aguacil, Real Sociedad have enjoyed another impressive La Liga campaign as they chase a top four finish and potential UEFA Champions League qualification. La Real enjoyed a 2-1 win at Barcelona at the weekend to extend their unbeaten run of form to six matches in the Spanish top-flight.
With three games of the season to go, the club from San Sebastien are five points clear of Villarreal in fifth place and it does seem as though, after three successive seasons of falling away, that they will finally finish inside the top four, alongside Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
Real Sociedad have made a habit of starting La Liga like a train before falling away and the way that they started the calendar year of 2023 appeared to follow that theme. However, they have now suffered just two defeats in their last 12 matches in all competitions.
Almeria
Following promotion last season, Almeria begin this weekend’s round of fixtures edging towards La Liga survival. The Andalusians hammered Real Mallorca by three goals to nil at the weekend to make it three victories in their last five matches.
Their most recent outing, that aforementioned defeat of the Balearic Islanders, saw Almeria dominate from start to finish. Lazaro notched all three goals at the Estadio Medierraneo with goals in the 12th, 42nd and 58th minutes.
With three games of the 2022/23 La Liga campaign to go, Almeria begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting four points and four places above the bottom three and the relegation places.

Both of these sides will head into the third-to-last match day of the season in a buoyant mood with both teams closing in on achieving their pre-season goals.
