Ever since the re-appointment of Jose Bordalas, Getafe have been much-improved and they do still have a slender chance of squeezing themselves into the top seven and the European spots as we head into the final seven games of the 2023/24 La Liga campaign. The Madrid-based club begin the weekend sitting eight points behind.
They have been inconsistent of late but generally more entertaining to watch than in the past under Bordalas but come into this one on the back of a really, really bad game of football as they shared a regional derby goalless draw with struggling Rayo Vallecano at Vallecas in their most recent outing, last weekend.
REAL SOCIEDAD
As one of the most intense pressing teams in European football, Real Sociedad have made a habit of starting seasons strongly before fading away through the middle and latter stages of the campaign. That has happened once again this season but Imanol Aguacil is steadying the ship to ensure they look certain for a top six finish.
La Real come into this on the back of a frustrating 2-2 draw at home to bottom-of-the-table and second-tier-bound Almeria in their most recent outing, last weekend. Prior to that draw with the Andalusians, the Basque club had enjoyed three successive victories either side of the March international break.

As mentioned, Getafe have been a little more interesting to watch this season in La Liga. Their 31 matches so far this season have consisted of 80 goals which is in contrast to the 79 goals that were produced in their 38 games last season. Real Sociedad have also been a little more open, both in defence and attack this season with over a goal per game scored and conceded thus far. Both teams scoring, therefore, would seem like a sensible bet.
